Welcome back to the 2019 school year. A special welcome to all the new families in our school, especially parents of our Kindergarten children who are joining our school community for the first time.

‘Strive to learn’ is our school motto. All staff aim to inspire student growth in the academic, physical, artistic and social domains. Our school has a strong focus on providing students with the knowledge, skills and values to create sustainable living. Our parents value the breadth of curriculum and learning opportunities that are available at Marmion Primary School.

As an Independent Public School we developed and implemented our third Business Plan (2018 – 2020) last year. This document has set the future directions for our school. While we continue to have a major focus on English and Mathematics we have been able to enhance the programs we offer in other learning areas. With the creation of a purpose built science classroom and a whole school focus on STEM Education our students are developing further skills in critical and creative thinking. We were one of five primary schools nominated as finalists in Governor’s STEM Awards last year.

The strong level of support provided to staff and students by parents and the wider community is a feature of the school. Student learning is facilitated when students see their parents demonstrating their support and interest in their education through active participation in class, school and school community events.

This support is clearly evident with the development of a new play area aimed at our senior students. Our P&C have raised significant funds to support this project.

If you would like to know more about this wonderful school, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Visitors are most welcome and school tours will enable you to meet the friendly staff and wonderful students.

Kind regards

Ian Herbert
