Welcome back to the 2021 school year. A special welcome to all the new families in our school, especially parents of our Kindergarten children who are joining our school community for the first time.
‘Strive to learn’ is our school motto. All staff aim to inspire student growth in the academic, physical, artistic and social domains. Our school has a strong focus on providing students with the knowledge, skills and values to create sustainable living. Our parents value the breadth of curriculum and learning opportunities that are available at Marmion Primary School.
As an Independent Public School we have now implemented our fourth Business Plan (2021 – 2023). This document has set the future directions for our school. While we continue to have a major focus on English and Mathematics we have been able to enhance the programs we offer in other learning areas. With the creation of a purpose built science classroom and a whole school focus on STEM Education our students are developing further skills in critical and creative thinking.
Health and Well Being of both students and staff is a clear focus for Marmion Primary School. Our aim is to create learning environments that promote resilience, optimism, confidence and self-efficacy.
The strong level of support provided to staff and students by parents and the wider community is a feature of the school. Student learning is facilitated when students see their parents demonstrating their support and interest in their education through active participation in class, school and school community events.
This support was clearly evident with the recent development of a new play area aimed at our senior students. Our P&C have raised significant funds to support this project.
